Dear Students,
The management of Óbuda University informs You that the Hungarian Government prolonged the social isolation regulations for an indeterminate period of time as from 11 April. The restrictions ordered on 28/03/2020 continue to be in effect.
Pursuant to such restrictions, on the basis of social isolation everybody is obligated to minimize social interactions with others. The place of residence is allowed to be left only for special reasons – basic procurements, individual constitutional walks, and transaction of affairs. This applies to all individuals staying in Hungary! Between 9.00 and 12.00 hours, only people over 65 years of age are allowed to attend grocery stores, pharmacies and markets, so students cannot do their shopping in this period. Adherence to the rules is supervised by the authorities and the police.
Let us repeatedly call your attention to the fact that you should stay at home as much as possible, keep social distancing and study online at the student hostel for the sake of other people’s health. We would like to draw your attention to the strict observance of the prescribed rules in order to preserve your health.
As you probably know, the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing is conducting aliens policing proceedings against several foreign nationals. Such foreigners left the room designated for them as quarantine at the site of South Pest Central Hospital, National Institute for Haematology and Infectology, without permission and protective clothing, loudly expressing their dissatisfaction and acting agressively against nursing staff.
Please be informed that the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing has ordered expulsion from the territory of Hungary and prohibition of entry and stay in respect of the entire Schengen area for 3 years against some of the referenced foreign students demonstrating disruptive behavior. In respect of two foreign students, the Directorate-General for Aliens Policing ordered aliens policing detention until the expulsion was carried out and afterwards they were expelled from the territory of Hungary.
The laws of Hungary must be observed in all cases, particularly in an emergency situation: offences of epidemiological control give rise to severe punishment. Let this example be a deterrent in order to avoid similar acts in the future. Thank You for the understanding and cooperation.
In the case of any problems, please, don’t hesitate to contact Your faculty SH coordinators, the International coordinators, or psychological counseling in English
